- Light brown/tan also saw a rise, contributing to the overall earthy and 1970s-inspired color scheme.
Design Aesthetics:
- Mid-century modernism, Scandinavian modernism, minimalism, maximalism, and monochromatic schemes remained popular, all with over 30% of designers favoring them.
- Rustic themes, brutalism, cottage core, and Neoclassicism were on the decline, with less than 20% of designers favoring them.
- Art Deco and Bauhaus aesthetics from the 1920s and 1930s were gaining popularity, increasing from 23% in 2023 to 28% in 2025.
Furniture and Decor:
- Vintage furniture and decor remained in high demand, with 81% of designers sourcing products from the 1920s through the 1990s in 2024.
- Iconic seating like Eames Chairs, Vladimir Kagan Serpentine Sofas, and Hans Wegner Wishbone Chairs continued to be popular, although their popularity slightly decreased since 2021.
- Timeless lighting like Murano Glass Pendants and the Noguchi Akari Lamp remained popular.
Patterns and Motifs:
- Organic patterns and large-scale prints were gaining popularity, while bold-scale prints were declining.
- Animal prints were also gaining momentum, increasing from 4% in 2024 to 6% in 2025.
Overall, the trends for 2024 and beyond seem to be moving towards a more earthy, natural, and eclectic aesthetic, with a focus on comfort, warmth, and individuality.
